The Fendi Fall/Winter 2024 menswear collection is a harmonious blend of beloved contemporary classics. The Milan runway, carved with seats shaping the iconic letter “F,” set the stage for concept and direction by Italian artist Nico Vascellari. The structured seating was the perfect setting to reveal a collection full of neutral and earthy tones. Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear Silvia Venturini Fendi called the collection “town and country.”
Styled by Julian Ganio, the show unveiled 57 looks that extended beyond traditional boundaries. The collection opened with a gold button-down layered with a burgundy sweater and an oversized brown leather coat paired with a pleated forest green skort. Venturini Fendi described the short’s appearance as a skirt as introducing a new attitude and redefining modern classics.
The collection put a new spin on the typical appearance of outerwear designs. Leather fisherman coats, beanie and bucket hats, bomber jackets, and peacoats took center stage, proposing a reinterpretation of outerwear.
Trousers and accessories stole the show with their intricate details. Corduroy trousers in hues of tan, olive green, blue, and wine red complemented every look. From small handbags to the innovative Siesta bag, featuring a pillow-like silhouette in striped quilting, handbags pushed the boundaries of men’s fashion. Venturini Fendi’s goal in the FW 24 collection was clear – to explore the meaning of masculinity and its evolving role in modern-day fashion.
