Layering for Spring in Oxford
Layering for Spring in Oxford

Spring is making its way into Oxford, if only between the hours of noon. and 4 p.m. Dressing for the chaotic weather in the South is a skill in and of itself. It takes a bit of rule-bending and creativity, but one thing remains true: layering is your best friend.
The shorts and sweater combo are a classic pair to embrace the mid-afternoon sunshine. While seemingly oxymoronic, it is a tried and true way to remain cool and comfortable during the few awkward hours of heat. A light sweater can be worn if the weather permits or slung around the shoulders as a practical, chic accessory.
Another way to incorporate spring into your outfits when the temperature is not in agreement is texture. Instead of avoiding chunky knits because of the warmer weather, look for sleeveless sweaters and lighter knit materials.
Layering is a beautiful technique that allows you to incorporate all your favorite clothing articles into one outfit. Pair your favorite button-down with your most worn jeans, a sweater, and throw on your most prized scarf to go with it.
