Rio Spring 2025 Ready-To-Wear

Rio, until recently known as Gypsy Sport, released an other-worldly ready-to-wear spring collection during New York Fashion Week.
The line featured a large spectrum of vibrant hues, intricately layered textures, and bold, sharp elements — a consistent theme from designer Rio Uribe. With its jagged details and bold color choices, the entire collection exuded a futuristic, alien-like aura.
The collection featured an array of styles, blending elements from various fashion aesthetics. It included a fresh take on business casual with black and white tuxedo-style crop tops, gray and white plaid sets elevated by chunky shoes, silky A-line drawstring maxi skirts, and vibrant, patch-worked suits that evoked an almost nostalgic feeling.
Urbie, a CFDA and Vogue prize winner, is known for his unique and inclusive designs. Paying tribute to his roots in L.A.'s Koreatown and Mexico, his streetwear styles effortlessly blend influences of diversity and gender fluidity, keeping the sporty edge that kickstarted the brand.
One recurring staple of the collection was his alien-space bag, which made its debut last fall during his spring ready-to-wear 2024 runway show.
Urbie prides himself in maintaining an earth-friendly, ethically sourced, and sustainable brand. The ready-to-wear 2025 collection is a blend of upcycled fabrics, deadstock materials, and factory-produced virgin fabrics.
This collection not only reflects Uribe’s innovative vision but also his dedication to ethical fashion, making a bold statement for the future.
