Gucci Spring 2024 Ready-To-Wear

Sabato De Sarno, the new Creative Director of Gucci, showed his debut collection at Milan Fashion Week, leaving the more maximalist styles Gucci has been known for in recent years behind in favor of more sophisticated designs. The collection features chic, everyday closet staples with a spotlight on the short suit.

The pieces that graced the runway exuded a youthful vibrancy that spun Gucci’s aesthetic in a completely new direction. Sarno took the spotlight through well-tailored pieces curated to take you from day to night.

With twists on iconic elements from archived collections, Sarno was sure to bring his own flair to this collection, declaring “ancora” – “again” in English – as the new slogan for the brand. From everyday essentials to a tinsel-fringed coat, the show featured something for everyone.

Gucci’s infamous Bamboo and Jackie bags, last seen on the runway in 1961, made a resurgence with Sarno’s personal touch. Accessories were in no way scarce; in addition to handbags, chunky gold necklaces and sunglasses also graced the runway.

Sarno’s vision of bringing back “Gucci, Gucci” was not missed. The designer stripped the brand back to its roots in a modern, micro-minimalist way, creating his own house codes that will guide the brand as it moves forward under Sarno’s guidance.
